Entry 15 : The Brother I Discovered 4 Years Ago

Hey.
It's been too long since I last wrote here.
And this post has been delayed only because of one reason:

SUDDEN ATTACK

That game's got me glued to the PC screen and has deprived me of any sleep.
Anyway, I would like to dedicate this post to the one and only, my AFROsome friend, Abbas Ridzuan.
(click on his name to go to his Facebook profile)

(The photo looks like friggin' mugshot)

Okay, so here it is.
This entry is dedicated to him because he just turned 18 on 13/03/10!
Dude, if you're reading this, thanks.
We celebrated his birthday that day by dining out at KFC.
The BEST photo of the night is (the rest of the photos will be/are on my Facebook page):

Not often you see a guy smile so hard like that. His smile is very contagious!

I've maybe only known him since 2006 but the things we've been through together made us as close as brothers.
He's the first guy that taught me how to curse without feeling guilty about it.
He knows a lot more things than I do and his sense of adventure compares to nobody.
His sarcasm sometimes exceeds mine (though, I rock at that) and his jokes make me laugh till Death comes for me a little earlier than he thought he would.

Words can't explain how much I respect, idolize and, most importantly, love him.
He's one of my best friends.
I don't have many and he's certainly one of them.
I love you, man.

It seems awkward to explain, though, why I do feel such a connection with him.
All in all, we started out as total strangers.
He just moved to Johor from Negeri Sembilan the year we first met.
He looked lost, lonely and, I shall say this, like a total nerd.
But I accepted him in to my group of friends (thank God I did) and we bonded straight away.
We'd text in the middle of the night, talking about stuff I've forgotten about.
Then he'd say that he couldn't because he slept in the same room with his mom and stuff.
I think I was also the first person he told that he had a crush on someone.

Pathetic as it may seem but those things can really bring two people close.
Along the years we spent a lot of time together and that's what made this friendship work.
On every holiday, we'd plan an outing.
Before that, I'd never go out because I was too afraid to ask my parents for permission.
Every moment shared with him are the best memories I have about him.
Up until now I've never doubted our friendship.
And I hope that that stays till forever.

However, soon he'll be heading off for NS.
I don't know what will become of me and the rest of the guys.
We'll surely miss him.
Three months may pass in a blink of an eye but we'll all surely feel his absence.

There's a lot to describe about Abbas.
He's now a man and a man he will be till whenever.
I'm glad he moved to Mutiara Rini.
I'm glad he sat where he sat during the orientation sessions at school.
I'm glad that I came up to him and asked who he was.
I'm glad that he responded.
And, I'm glad that I regard him more as a brother than just another friend.

HAPPY 18TH, BRO.
Friends Forever
... right?

Here's something that I'd like to dedicate to him.
It's Somewhere Only We Know by Keane.
