Entry 98 : A PHOTO A DAY - 24

Hey, everyone.
It's a new month and I thought I should start it off with a new challenge back on the 1st but I was too hooked up on searching for the perfect first photo.
You see, I just bought myself a new phone and me being the overly sentimental man that I am, obsessed over what I should photograph as the first photo using an iPhone 5S.
If you're curious, see it here.
Maybe I'll save it for December's photo challenge.

But that's not the photo I want to share today, although it clearly says "A PHOTO A DAY".
Anyway, it's the mid-sem break now, or in the US they'd call it Spring Break, and I'll be travelling the whole week with the family.
We started off back on Friday, then we went up north to Penang, where we are right now and will touch back down in JB on Sunday from KL.

Penang is quite the sight.
It's a more developed state in Malaysia but the drivers are ruthless and the environment isn't any better than KL.
There are a lot of mainstream tourist attractions but I haven't seen any.
Maybe because we came here to relax and not much of the adventure style of touring.
However, we did attack one foodie site in Penang:

#24 : Line not so clear

The caption is a pun on the name of the restaurant, which is "Line Clear Nasi Kandar".
Dad says the line isn't usually super long as it was today but since the restaurant is located in Little India and Deepavali celebrations seem to be still going on, it was awfully hectic.
We were lucky to get seats but the wait was worth it because we got to try a very delicious (and I don't use that word often) huge dish of fish head curry.

Little India (both in Singapore and Penang) is a really cool place.
Of course, it's super hot, super packed and super stuffy, but the aesthetic value of the buildings and surroundings could make one stare in awe.
I like how the buildings at Lebuh Queen and Serangoon Road are very classic, oldish and some almost rundown but still have the strength to withstand human weight, catering to the hunger of man for some Nasi Kandar or Nasi Briyani.

Aside from the horrific traffic in Penang, it should be said that even the places not listed as "tourist attractions" are really attractive, in the way that both culture and life art are cultivated so naturally.
You can always hike up Bukit Bendera or drive up the coast to Batu Ferringhi, but you won't get to see the real side of a place until you've actually gone into the deep depths of culture and eateries.
Adventure isn't always action and excitement, it could just be the journey towards discovery.

""Penangians..."
"No, it's Penangites!""
