Hello!
It's that time of year again and we're gearing up for the most anticipated annual event:
MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia 2014 is set to be the biggest one yet!
MTV have announced all the performers for this year's World Stage with one of them being our very own Yuna:
Malaysian-born singer-songwriter sensation, Yuna
Her organic blend of contemporary pop, acoustic folk and soulful R&B brings about a unique sound to her music which easily transcends boundaries and borders.
Beginning with her self-titled 2008 EP that produced the hit single “Deeper Conversation.”, Yuna has constantly gained interest and success.
The following year, Yuna won her first of several Anugerah Industri Muzik awards (Malaysia’s equivalent of the Grammys) while also attending law school and open up IAMJETFUEL (women's clothing boutique).
Yuna has travelled the world to showcase her music and this time she's coming home to shower her local fans with all her glory.
This next group has also been a hit on the airwaves recently.
This year, MTV's choice for a K-pop act is Boys Republic:
Universal Music Group International’s first K-pop idol group, Boys Republic
Boys Republic has been in Universal Music Korea’s pipeline for almost two years until their debut in 2013.
In June 2013, Boys Republic released their debut single, “Party Rock” along with its music video and the song peaked at No. 1 on iTunes single charts in Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
Their song “You Are Special” also peaked at No. 1 on KKBOX Chart in Malaysia while their latest single, “Video Game” made No. 1 on Dwango K-POP daily chart in Japan.
Boys Republic won “Best New Artist” at the 20th Korean Entertainment & Art Awards 2013 and was selected as both Jeju Air’s PR Ambassador for 2013 and as Korean Youth Association Ambassador.
Furthermore, the group has also appeared on SBS MTV in a special eight-episode feature, “Best New Artist, Boys Republic”, which aired June-July 2013.
This time around it will be their second time performing in Malaysia and I'm sure all their Malaysians can't wait to see them again.

Superstar actress and singer, Jennifer Hudson
Starting out as a contestant in the popular TV show American Idol (reaching the Top 7), Hudson has proven her worth as she went on to win a Grammy Award for her debut album in 2008, which its hit single "Spotlight" was certified Gold by the RIAA.
Her second album, I Remember Me also received a Gold certification by the RIAA in 2011, producing the hit "Where You At".
Hudson has performed at numerous events such as the Super Bowl, Grammy Awards, The Oprah Winfrey Show and even at the White House!
Overall she has sold 1.28 million albums and 2.237 million singles in the US only.
In 2013, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
But that's not all.
As an actress, she made her film debut in the 2006 film adaptation of Dreamgirls as Effie White, for which she received worldwide acclaim and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, a Golden Globe Award, a BAFTA Award, an NAACP Image Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
She has also appeared in such films as Sex and the City, The Secret Life of Bees and Winnie Mandela.
The next name on the performer's list is another international sensation.
What's up, Bobby Ray (B.oB)!
Hailing from Georgia, B.o.B has ranked up some serious cred in his career so far.
His initial quick rise to fame came after his commercial debut single "Nothin' on You", reached number one in both the US and the UK.
His third single "Airplanes" featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore also topped several music charts.
His fifth single "Magic" with Rivers Cuomo of Weezer became his third top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100. B.o.B's debut studio album The Adventures of Bobby Ray, which was preceded by two extended plays (EPs) and several mixtapes, was released on April 27, 2010.
The album reached number one on the US Billboard charts and was eventually certified Gold by the RIAA. Later that year, B.o.B was named the ninth "Hottest MC in the Game of 2010" by MTV.
B.o.B released his second studio album Strange Clouds, on May 1, 2012 and has spawned six singles, four of which gained exceptional reception internationally.
The song "Strange Clouds", the album's eponymous lead single, became his fourth top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
The singles "So Good", "Both of Us" and "Out of My Mind" also received success with the former two being certified Platinum by the RIAA.
Moreover, the album itself debuted at number five on the Billboard 200.
In december 2013, he released his third album, Underground Luxury and supported the lead single "Headband".
B.o.B is an awesome addition the list of performers at this year's MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia and with the talent that MTV has gathered, it is undoubtedly going to be a blast!
And then there was four again!
Thai-American Hip Hop Group Thaitanium is set to perform alongside Yuna, B.o.B and Boys Republic.
Thai Hip Hop pioneers, Thaitanium
Formed in 2000, the group is among the first of Thai rap artists and comprises K.H. - Khanngoen "Khan" Nuanual, P. Cess - Prinya "Way" Intachai, Sunny Day - Nay Myo "Day" Thant.
The group has released five albums and has performed for the MTV Asia Awards and was an opening act for 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg at the Together Festival 2013 in Bangkok.
Their first two albums, AA and Thai Riders, were produced under their parent label Thaitanium Entertainment Inc, recorded in New York City, and released in Thailand in 2000 and 2002.
Their next album releases cemented the group's popularity in Thailand, being played in night clubs, bars and at music festivals.
Ever since their formation in 2000, Thaitanium has solidified itself as one of the biggest and most successful hip hop groups in Asia..
The result of their unique mix of Thai and NY sounds has seen Thaitanium perform across Thailand, Southeast Asia, Japan, Europe, Australia and America, and perform with some of the biggest names locally and internationally.
Their golden reputation comes from opening for huge hip hop acts including Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Far East Movement, Nas, Sean Kingston, Flo Rida and 50 Cent on his “Get Rich or Die Trying” world tour with Fort Minor.
They were awarded “Best Hip Hop Group” at the Independent Asian Music Awards (AVIMA) 2009 and won the “Best Group” award at You2play Awards 2012.
They were also nominated for “Favorite Artist Thailand” at the MTV Asia Awards 2006.
I have always been a fan of rap music and with the likes of B.o.B and Thaitanium, I am sure to be blown away.

- Pass holder below 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult (above 21 years old) who shall also have a pass to the Event. Photo ID checks conducted at the door
- This is a free-standing, rain or shine event
- Strictly Prohibited Items (security checks conducted at the door):
- All recording devices (cameras, videocams, tablets, laptops); but smartphones allowed.
- Dangerous objects (e.g. helmets, umbrellas, sharp objects, or as determined by MTV); but short umbrellas allowed.
- Alcohol, controlled substances, outside food & drinks
- MTV reserves right to refuse entry to any person at its discretion
- MTV may use pass holder’s image or likeness in any recorded video/photograph
- Event line-up may be subject to changes. MTV may postpone, cancel or suspend the Event due to any cause beyond reasonable control
- Pass holder voluntarily assumes all risks, danger and liabilities incidental to the Event; MTV and its event partners shall not be liable for any death, personal injury, loss or damage howsoever caused
- Entry subject to Sunway Lagoon venue conditions
- Drugs and other illegal substances are strictly prohibited. Violators will be referred to the authorities.
