We are well into the second half of the year and with that, more concerts are coming our way.
And what concert calendar would be complete without the ever-awesome MTV World Stage Malaysia?
MTV World Stage Malaysia is back - BIGGER than ever!
Concert details:
- Date (Day): September 12th, 2015 (Saturday)
- Venue: Surf Beach, Sunway Lagoon
- Time: 7PM
- Admission is FREE*

Five Acts to Perform
This year, concert goers will be dazzled by FIVE performers, which include two international acts, two regional acts, and one #MostWantedMalaysia act.
MTV had previously revealed Korean girl group Apink, Japanese band SEKAI NO OWARI, pop artist Carly Rae Jepsen and international superstar Jason Derulo as the line-up.
Apink ready to set Malaysian Pandas' hearts ablaze
Apink is currently one of the most idolized K-pop girl groups formed by A Cube Entertainment in 2011.
Known for their sweet and innocent image and street style that has captivated fans around the world, the award-winning group consists of Park Cho-rong, Yoon Bo Mi, Jeong Eun-ji, Son Na Eun, Kim Nam Joo, Oh Ha Young.
They made a comeback with the recent release of their second album in three years, “Pink MEMORY” and title track “Remember” on 16 July.
Within a day, they topped all the major Korean music charts, including MelOn, the biggest music streaming site in Korea, positioning them well to be one of the hottest this summer.

SEKAI NO OWARI adds creative flavor to #worldstagemy
SEKAI NO OWARI means ‘end of the world’.
Armed with an unusual name matching their unique sounds which leave a lasting impression both visually and musically, SEKAI NO OWARI is currently one of the most popular and skilled creative groups in Japan.

Carly Rae Jepsen is looking forward to meeting her Malaysian fans for the first time
Previously, after independently releasing her first album (2008’s Tug of War), Jepsen landed a deal with Schoolboy Records/Interscope and soon made her major-label debut with Kiss.
Along with Call Me Maybe - which climbed to #1 on the iTunes Singles charts in more than 47 countries, it sold over 17 million singles worldwide, and earned Jepsen 2012 Grammy® Award nominations for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year.
Jepsen took home “Best Song” and “Best PUSH Act” at the 2012 MTV EMAs.
In that same year, she performed at MTV Video Music Awards Japan and took home “Best New Artist Video”, where today, the song has racked up over 700 million views on YouTube.
Kiss featured follow-up hit Good Time, a duet with Owl City that’s now been certified double-platinum.
Today, Jepsen brings new depth and dimension to her undeniably hooky but heart-driven breed of pop music.
With a sense of pure feeling and passion inspired by classic pop records of the early ‘80s, her highly anticipated new album, E·MO·TION finds Jepsen conjuring up pop’s most thrilling paradoxes and delivering songs both carefree and introspective, tender and bold, sensitive and self-assured.
E·MO·TION includes lead single I Really Like You, a Billboard Top 40 hit praised as “pop perfection” by BuzzFeed and “mind-blowing, fantastic, catchy-as-hell pop” by Idolator.
Her second and latest single from the upcoming album, Run Away With Me was recently released on 17 July and has already passed over 2.5 million views on YouTube within two weeks of its release, while getting strong reviews from music critics around the world as the ‘Anthemic Summer Jam’.

Derulo first made the world take notice when he broke onto the scene with his killer debut single Whatcha Say, which sold over five million digital downloads in the US alone.
Boasting over 2 billion views on YouTube, over 50 million worldwide record sales, 27 million social media followers, a radio audience of over 17 billion (with 11 of his songs reaching the Top 10 on the Top 40 charts include four Number #1s) and three huge albums – Derulo continues to churn out hit singles where to date, he has 11 career-defining platinum singles, including Don’t Wanna Go Home, The Other Side, In My Head, Ridin’ Solo, Talk Dirty (feat. 2 Chainz), Wiggle (feat. Snoop Dogg), and It Girl.
His fourth studio album, Everything Is 4, released in June 2015 is already adding to his massive success story.
Its lead single Want To Want Me continues to grow and is almost at 116 million views on YouTube.
It became the biggest Top 40 radio launch ever in the United States.
Derulo himself made headlines by being the first artist ever to release a video on the dating app Tinder, which has already received five million views since its launch in March.
The triple-threat singer, songwriter and dancer continues to break records and endorse his status as one of the world’s most successful artists in just five years, having received countless awards and nominations, including five BMI Pop Music Awards since he ascended from his beginnings writing songs for Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Diddy, Sean Kingston to name a few.
Currently, MTV has revealed all acts, including Malaysia's #MostWanted act (below).

MTV has announced the three candidates who scored mentorship stints under MTV Breaks ignited by Xpax at MTV World Stage Malaysia 2015:

Malaysia's #MostWanted
"I'm shaking with excitement with this huge opportunity"
The award-winning Malaysian singer had a humble beginning when she started out as a singer in local clubs to help support her family at the age of 16.
Early on, Stacy participated in a few notable singing reality shows, but Stacy rose to fame after winning the sixth season of Akademi Fantasia in 2008, receiving 43% of over 3.8 million votes.
Her debut album, Aku Stacy was released in March 2009.
Since then, the 25-year-old from Kota Kinabalu has been on a fast-track to stardom at home, having released two other albums, Stay-C and Stacy #1 in 2011 and 2014, respectively, with Warner Music Malaysia, where the latter album is also released in Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei.
Proving her popularity over the last seven years, Stacy has bagged more than 12 awards locally, including two awards at Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian and Album #1 at AIM Kulit Album Terbaik last year.
Also known as the "Malaysia Dancing Queen", she has performed on a number of local shows and made numerous TV appearances.
