Hey, there!
Many apologies for posting this entry quite late.
I've been dealing with extreme post-concert withdrawal for the past few days because it's just so hard to move on from THE BEST CONCERT EVER!
It was a beautiful night despite the pretty thick haze and a whole lot of suffocation.
For the first time in a long time, I was extremely dehydrated and had a few moments of almost passing out.
But that didn't deter me from thoroughly enjoying one of the best World Stage concerts I've personally been to since 2011.
The night started off with an hour-long set by DJ Biggie before local artist and MTV #MostWanted winner, Stacy took the stage.
Stacy proved her worth as part of the line-up of global icons with her sharp dance moves, great vocals and top of the line showmanship.
She opened the night with her latest single Not For Sale and definitely made Malaysia proud.
Next to perform was SEKAI NO OWARI, who performed five songs in total, including tracks like ANTI-HERO and Dragon Night.
The band was absolutely mesmerizing; treating fans to a beautiful blend of live instruments, techno synths and cleverly tuned vocals.
My personal favorite track of the night was Mr. Heartache, which successfully got current fans and new fans hyped up for the rest of the artists.
Going back to the tradition of alternating boy groups with girl groups, MTV brought current Korean pop sensation Apink and when it was their turn to come on stage, fans just went insane!
It had been three long years of waiting for Malaysian Pandas to see their beloved girls ever since their first international appearance in Malaysia back in 2012.
The girls came back with a more mature image, yet still maintaining their distinct sound and concept.
Apink sadly only performed four songs that night, which include recent songs like Mr. Chu, LUV and their latest Remember.
I really wished they would perform more , especially classics like Bubibu and I Don't Know.
Even so, they made the most of their time on stage by displaying great fan service, exceptional live singing, and quirky antics; all the while keeping their choreography on point.
The most memorable part of Apink's set is when their voices were totally drowned out by the sheer deafening screams of the fans in the crowd, which just goes to show how much fans loved the girls and how badly they wanted to see them perform in Malaysia.
Three performers in and I was already ready to surrender.
I didn't think it would affect me that bad, but the haze really did a number on me.
Thankfully, as some of the crowd from the front row retreated to the back to get some air, I got to move right up to the barrier.
I could now breathe again... at least, before my breath was taken away by the wonderful Carly Rae Jepsen.
Carly Rae was just the sweetest thing on stage.
Throughout her performance, she showed her awfully cute and bubbly demeanour by dancing around the stage, twirling around giant LED balloons and just cheekily playing with her dress.
I really loved her set list, which included a mix of tracks from her latest album E·MO·TION, like Run Away With Me and Emotion, and also some of her notable songs from her previous album like Tonight I'm Getting Over You and the international chart-topping hit, Call Me Maybe.
Carly Rae ended her nine-track set with the very popular song I Really Like You, which received a resounding response from the fans.
I, myself, was left in a daze when she finally made her way off the stage; skipping and giggling.
Lastly, after a very long intermission, it was time for the icing on the best World Stage cake ever.
Jason Derulo made the pain of waiting instantly go away when he started off his set with In My Head.
He was a true superstar and that night, he proved to everyone that dreams do come true.
Throughout his performances, Jason would include a little back story to how his career started out, the inspiration behind his songs and words of wisdom to the creatives in the crowd.
He shared that Cheyenne was his personal stress-relief song, and a testament to his hard work.
Jason reflected on the times he would perform at shopping malls and how far he'd gotten to be able to grace the stage and headline World Stage.
There aren't enough words to describe how intense and attention-grabbing Jason's performance was.
You really had to be there to believe that a human being could sing and dance as much as he did; continuously for a whole 14-track set.
Fans got to see Jason perform songs like Watcha Say, The Other Side, Don't Wanna Go Home, Marry Me, and Want To Want Me live and unadulterated.
The man of the night ended his set by getting fans involved with his performance by teaching them a "new dance that nobody knows about yet" that goes along with his upcoming song Pull Up.
Such a huge star, yet he remembers to acknowledge the fact that the he is there for the fans, and the fans are there for him, too.
MTV World Stage Malaysia 2015 left a huge impression on fans.
The build up to the magical night was exhaustingly amazing.
From the contests, to the roadshow, to the pre-show, to the actual show, and now the post-show withdrawal.
This year, concert goers felt more like family, and hopefully the bonds that have been made will last for a long time.
VJs Alan and Hanli, especially, took this to heart after receiving immense love and support from everyone that came to the roadshow and the concert.
MTV World Stage Malaysia 2015 will premiere on MTV in Asia on Saturday, 26 September at 1.30pm (TH/WIB), 2.30pm (PH/SG) and 3.30pm (MY), Saturday, 10 October at 9pm (JP) and Sunday, 11 October at 12am (KR).

There is no telling what a common love for music can do; and I am glad that I was able to be a part of this phenomenon.
