Hey, everyone.
Today I met up with my friend and fellow photographer/blogger friend Robin Wong (check out his awesome work here) and we were talking about how busy we've been lately and how much we longed to do street shooting like we used to. Robin however, as busy as he is, still manages to find time to shoot and update his blog with all sorts of cool stuff, which is probably why he has almost 9,500 likes on Facebook! Anyhow, as we were talking about our current undertakings and future plans, Robin expressed how he's been looking forward to my next update. As you all might also notice, this blog has gone without a new entry for more than three weeks and I have only myself to blame. That being said, I am here now writing a new entry as a means to get back into the whole blogging mindframe. And with that, I present to you an editorial on the:
The Adidas Tubular was first introduced in 1993 as a running shoe and had its modern makeover in 2014, with its new form inspired by the very popular Adidas Y3 Qasa. The Tubular X Knit was crafted to not only bring back the nostalgia of the early 90s, but to also provide great performance for running and basketball.
Real-world usage begs to differ, though, on the "running shoe" category the Tubular X Knit apparently falls under, as the tall sidewalls pretty much restrict movement of the ankles. Nevertheless, it is obvious that the shoes look pretty damn cool.
The fashion industry has seen many things and a lot of the marketing for recent Adidas Originals shoes gear more towards street fashion and urban styles, coupling running shoes with either fashionable sportswear or high fashion outfits. However, for this editorial, I didn't go for the modern street-style look as I wanted a more easy-going shoot this time around.
The Tubular line is one of the current favorites from Adidas right now, aside from the elusive NMDs. It's a pain to actually cop a pair of hyped Adidas shoes nowadays but we actually got this pair for cheap at a premium outlet somewhere in the suburbs of New York State. Adidas sells their shoes at really high prices, with absolutely confusing and convoluted ways of selling their more "premium" line-ups such as the Yeezys and NMDs. I can appreciate the fact that some of these shoes are extremely well-designed, but having to pay a sum of RM500 and upwards for shoes that sometimes don't even look nice is really just ripping everyone off.
Anyway, on the bright side, there are stores out there that might still keep some off-season or designs of yesteryear so you might be able to get them for cheap. Despite whatever marketing scheme Adidas has going for its new releases, you might actually find an awesome pair for less than a kidney; just like how we found this lovely Adidas Tubular X Knit.
I really liked producing this editorial. I don't know a lot about fashion but I have always been a fan of the industry and the people involved in it. A huge part of fashion is photography, which is something I'm quite good at (I hope), so I'm looking to start writing more stuff on fashion and hopefully collaborate with my peers from the fashion scene for much better fashion content on this blog.
Thanks for stopping by. Until the next entry, take care!
p/s: This editorial was shot using the Olympus PEN-F with an assortment of awesome lenses back in February. Huge thanks to Olympus Malaysia for hooking me up with an early test unit.

Also suitable for skateboarding
The light and cush inner-tube-style outsole pays homage to the original 1993 Tubular
If you look closely, you can make out an 'X' on the side of the shoes
